The Jewish Museum is an art museum rooted in Jewish culture that serves people of all religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. As an identity-based institution representing a historically marginalized people, the Museum plays an important role among cultural institutions to fight against all forms of bigotry and discrimination and to promote understanding among wide audiences. Visitor Experience Assistant

Visitor Experience Assistants provide visitors with a positive and welcoming experience at the Jewish Museum through courteous, proactive, and efficient sales and customer service.

Porter

The Porter is responsible for physical maintenance of the office areas, staff kitchens, public and staff restrooms, galleries and public areas.

Development Associate

The Jewish Museum seeks an energetic, organized, and detail-oriented individual to provide essential support to the Department of Major Gifts, assisting in all aspects of the fundraising journey.

Public Programs Coordinator

The Public Programs Coordinator reports to the Associate Director, Public Programs in the Education Department and assists with the planning and implementation of creative, dynamic, and engaging programs for adult audiences.

Editorial Director

The Editorial Director oversees and manages all aspects of The Jewish Museum’s editorial and publishing activities relating to collections and exhibitions including interpretive materials and scholarly catalogues.

Director of Design

The Director of Design heads the in-house Creative Services team, which fulfills the design needs across the Museum, including print, digital, environmental, motion graphics, and art direction.

Security Guard

The Museum’s Security Guards play a vital role in maintaining the security and safety of the Museum premises, assets, visitors, and staff, while also serving as ambassadors with the Museum’s visitors and guests. 

ASL Programs Per Diem Educator

The ASL Programs Per Diem Educator works within Access Programs to facilitate interactive inquiry-based and lecture-based tours in American Sign Language for the Education Department in a freelance capacity.

Internships

The Jewish Museum's year-round Internship Program provides an opportunity to participate in the day-to-day operations of one of New York City's leading museums of art and culture.

We are currently offering paid hybrid internships for undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to apply for our Internship Program.

Current Opportunities:

Museum Intern

The Jewish Museum is offering a hybrid internship opportunity for an individual on the autism spectrum who is interested in the administrative aspect of working in an art museum. The intern will have the opportunity to work in a variety of departments at the Museum including Education, Membership, and Marketing.

Academic Year Internships

The Jewish Museum is hosting paid part-time internships during the academic year for undergraduate and graduate students in the NYC area.

Volunteer Program

Volunteers play an integral role at the Jewish Museum, providing support to many aspects of Museum operations.
