Printing the Fragmented Self

Classes

Wednesday, April 6, 2022
5 – 7 pm EDT
Zoom, Virtual Program

This program is at capacity. If you have questions or would like to receive advance notification about future programs, please email [email protected].

In this two-part virtual workshop taught by printmaker Jennifer Mack-Watkins, participants will create an edition of prints that represent their cultural backgrounds, identities, and histories, drawing inspiration from prints in the Jewish Museum collection. Learn hand-printed relief techniques in order to create original designs that will be reproduced in multiples using a variety of professional papers and tools, and experiment with printing on found surfaces. All materials are included in the course fee, and a customized kit will be mailed to each participant in advance of the workshop. Each kit will include Japanese printmaking blocks and papers, block cutting tools, rollers and ink, and a variety of other specialized materials.

This session will be led virtually through Zoom. Participants should have access to a computer with a camera and WiFi, and will receive a Zoom link prior to the program date.

All skill levels welcome.

$175 General; $160 Member (price includes all materials and shipping within the US)

Please note that this is a two-session class. Ticket purchase is required and includes both sessions on April 6 & 13. If you do not receive your email confirmation within ten minutes, please check your spam folder.
