The Book of Esther in the Age of Rembrandt: A Workshop for Educators

Join us for a workshop that explores the exciting exhibition, The Book of Esther in the Age of Rembrandt. The exhibition includes magnificent paintings, prints, and drawings by Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) and his contemporaries depicting scenes from the biblical Book of Esther and presented with Jewish ceremonial art related to the holiday of Purim. The Book of Esther was a key source of inspiration for diverse communities in 17th-century Holland, both Jewish and Christian. Participate in a tour of the exhibition with a Jewish Museum educator and engage in a studio art project inspired by works of art on view.
